Currently, we are seeking a Technical Buyer to be based at corporate office in Cincinnati, OH.

The Technical Buyer will determine the type, quantity, and date materials are needed to ensure optimal installation of projects and on time delivery to the end customer.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Evaluate, plan, and purchase material required to support customer demand
  • Recommend mechanical and electrical requirements for solar shade projects
  • Assist with the development of electrical needs for motors on new construction
  • Facilitate ordering proper brackets and other support hardware required to effectively install projects
  • Provide technical support relative to fabric needs including sun blockage as well as privacy potential
  • Effectively communicate product specifications, design changes, and hardware requirements to the sales and estimating teams
  • Prepare RFQs with multiple suppliers to assure completive project bids
  • Negotiate annual pricing and manage system updates for future purchases
  • Communicate with suppliers and make sure expectations are clear for lead time, quality, cost availability, and payment terms
  • Review past usage, current demand, and capacity issues for inventory planning
  • Provide and maintain regularly scheduled reports and evaluations
  • Transfer inventory from US distribution center locations as necessary
  • Oversee return product to suppliers for quality issues as well as overstock situations

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-5 years of experience in a purchasing, distribution, or manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication, computer, and analytical skills
  • Global importing experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards, APICS, or National Purchasing preferred
  • CPIM, CIRM certification preferred
